In Kim

In Kim is an accomplished leader and innovator in the field of battery technology.

He completed Ph.D in electrochemistry (battery, fuel cell) at Seoul National University and Post-Doctor in materials science at Harvard University.

He was President of Battery R&D Institute at Vingroup/Vinfast and Deputy CEO at VinES, a battery company under Vingroup. And he was Vice President, Head of Battery Technology Center in America, and Head of the Next Generation Battery Innovation Group at Samsung SDI. He played a leading role in developing the next generation batteries for EVs (BMW, Chrysler, Volkswagen), fast charging batteries for bus (Dongfeng, Yutong, Huanghai) and truck (Foton), and long life batteries for energy storage applications (NextEra, Aliso, Nichikon, Fluence, NEC). He also led multiple collaboration projects with major US manufacturers, including EV, ESS, mobile phone, IT electronics, power tools and airplanes. He authored 135 patents in battery technology, and published 11 SCI papers in the world’s most scientific journals.
